Dressage
Test(s): Training: Test 4; Preliminary: Test 2;
Ring/Warm-up area Footing: Warmup and all VSE classes are on grass;
all other classes are in sand rings.
Obstacle Class
Notes: Fault and Out; Timed Obstacles
Awards Offered: Trophy and six ribbons in all classes except Concours
d’Elegance where there will be ten places awarded. Champion and
Reserve in each division; American Morgan Horse Association
High Score Award, Arabian Horse Association Region 15 PA/AA/
HA High Score Award, Regency High Score VSE, High Score
Junior Driver; Grand and Reserve Champion of Show - see prize
list for requirements for all awards. Reinsmanship will decide ties.
Points weighted based upon number of entries in class - see prize
list for details.
Misc. Class Info: Marathon style vehicle for single and multiples entries
is acceptable - should be presented clean and tidy as if for presentation.
Hats, Gloves, Whip and Aprons are required. Please see ADS
Rules for class specs.
Divisions
Single Horse: Horses over 14.2h and at least 3 years old.
Single Pony: Ponies over 39” and up to 14.2h and at least 3 years old.
Novice Driver: Driver who has not won 3 first place ribbons in approved
driving show; classes with under three entries not to count.
Junior Driver: As Per ADS Rule Book.
Multiples: Pairs, Tandems, or Four-in-hands and at least 3 years old.
VSE (Very Small Equines): Singles, Pairs and Four-in-hands not over
39” and at least 3 years old.
Park Type Single Horse/Pony: Entries in this division should have a more
elevated way of going; park type entries may exhibit with either an
animated walk (park type) or a flat footed walk. Park vehicles NOT
required. Judged primarily on performance, quality of horse, and
manners. See prize list for further specifications.
Draft Type Single Horse/Pony: Offered for pleasure drafts and heavier
draft crosses. To show under general ADS Pleasure Driving rules,
NOT ADS Draft Breed; light pleasure harness is required; gaits are
as listed under general pleasure driving classes; For safety purposes
trace chains are prohibited.
Management reserves the right to combine or split classes as entries
warrant. VSE divisions may be combined if not enough entries for
two divisions; Park Type and Draft Type entries will be incorporated
into Single Horse/Pony divisions if not enough entries.
Other Information
Veterinary/Health Requirements: Negative Coggins within 1 year of
show date
Stabling Information: Offsite but close - advance notice required. Please
request with entry; stabling secretary will contact.
Misc. Show info: Three large fenced sand arenas, VSE classes in a 20m
x 40m grass arena. Awards party with refreshments at end of day.
Vendors. Children’s activities: stick horse races, ice cream.
Food Available on the Grounds: Yes
Accommodations: Hampton Inn -Downgtown/Exton 610- 363-5555;
Directions to Show: The horse show grounds are located on Route 100
N, just beyond the intersection of Routes 100 & 401, in the heart
of northern Chester County, about one hour from Philadelphia,
Wilmington and Elkton.
FROM THE PA TURNPIKE: Exit 312 (old exit 23) - Downingtown:
Follow Route 100 North for approximately 4 miles, cross Route
401. The showgrounds are 0.3m on the left.
FROM ROUTE 30 WEST (Lancaster Ave): Take Route 30 to Route
100 North (at Exton) to the show grounds.
FROM ROUTE 30 EAST (Lancaster Ave): Take Route 401 West (at
Great Valley Shopping Center) to Route 100. Turn right on Route
100 N. The showgrounds are 0.3m on the left.
FROM ROUTE 202: Take Route 401 West (Frazer Exit) to Route 100.
Turn right on Route 100 N. The showgrounds are 0.3m on the
