Entry/Class Fees: $15 per class; Post Entry Fees: $20 per class, please register by 7:30 am for morning classes; Entry Fee Refund Policy: Minus $10 with written vet or physicians note until closing date, no refund after; Stall Fee: $50 includes bedding; Make Checks Payable to: BVDC, note for stall fee.


Tentative Schedule


Secretary’s Office Opens: Sat. 1-5 pm, Sun. 7 am; Cones: Open to walk Sat. 1-5 pm; Sun. before 9 am.; Social Events: Sunday after last class - wine & cheese party and awards; competitor and two guests attend for free, $5 for each additional guest


Classes


Total # of Classes Offered: 40
Summary of Classes Offered: Working, Reinsmanship, Timed Obstacles, Scurry, Dressage, Drive & Ride, Ladies & Gentlemen to Drive, Jack Benny, Concours d’Elegance, Carriage Dog, Costume (not ADS).
Ring/Warm-up area Footing: Warm-up and VSE arena is grass / all other divisions dressage, cones and main arena is sand.
Obstacle Classes: Timed Obstacles and Gambler’s Choice
Awards Offered: Trophy and six ribbons in all classes except Concours d’Elegance where there will be ten places awarded. The American Morgan Horse Assoication high score award - awarded to registered Morgan horses receiving the greatest number of points at the BCDS - horses must be shown under their registered name and copy of registration papers must accompany entry form.
Division awards: Novice Whip, Single Pony, Single Horse, Multiples, VSE Open, VSE Novice Driver, Junior Whip. Championship classes are Working, Reinsmanship, Timed Obstacles, Scurry. Reinsmanship will decide ties. Points: First = 7pts, 2nd = 5pts, 3rd = 4pts, 4th = 3pts, 5th = 2pts, and Sixth = 1pt.
Misc. Class Info: Marathon style vehicle for single and multiples entries is acceptable - should be presented clean and tidy as if for presentation. Hats, Gloves and Aprons are required.
Single Horse: Horses 14.2h and over and at least 3 yrs.
Single Pony: Ponies over 39” and under 14.2h and at least 3 yrs.
Novice Driver: Driver who has not won 3 first place ribbons in approved driving show.
Multiples: Pairs, Tandems, or Four-in-hands and at least 3 yrs.
VSE (Very Small Equines): Single Pairs and Four-in-hands not over 39” and at least 3 yrs.
Tailgate competition (carriages only) offered to everyone beginning 11:30am (under cover) - please let organizer know if you wish to participate.
Management reserves the right to combine or split classes as entries warrant. VSE divisions may be combined if not enough entries for two divisions.

Veterinary/Health Requirements: Negative Coggins within 1 year of show date
Stabling Information: Offsite but close - advance notice required. Please request with entry; stabling secretary will contact.
Misc. Show info: Wine & Cheese party at end of day for awards. Vendors. Children’s activities: stick horse races, ice cream, face painting.
Food Available on the Grounds: Yes, all day

Directions to Show: The horse show grounds are located on Route 100 N, just beyond the intersection of Routes 100 & 401, in the heart of northern Chester County, about one hour from Philadelphia, Wilmington and Elkton.FROM THE PA TURNPIKE: Exit 312 (old exit 23) - Downingtown: Follow Route 100 North for approximately 4 miles, cross Route 401. The showgrounds are 0.3m on the left. FROM ROUTE 30 WEST (Lancaster Ave): Take Route 30 to Route 100 North (at Exton) to the show grounds.FROM ROUTE 30 EAST (Lancaster Ave): Take Route 401 West (at Great Valley Shopping Center) to Route 100. Turn right on Route 100 N. The showgrounds are 0.3m on the left. FROM ROUTE 202: Take Route 401 West (Frazer Exit) to Route 100. Turn right on Route 100 N. The showgrounds are 0.3m on the left.
