ADS North American Preliminary and Intermediate ChampionshipsADS Announces Host Venues for North American ChampionshipsThe American Driving Society (ADS) is pleased to announce the host venues for the head-to-head driven North American Preliminary and the North American Intermediate Championships. The Preliminary Championships will be held at the Longview by the Lake CDE, September 17-19 in Kansas City, Missouri. The Intermediate Championships will be held at the Katydid CDE, November 4-7 in Aiken, South Carolina. New this year, VSE Championships will be held along with each championship. Each event will be a driven championship, taking place over a single competition weekend. Now in its third year, the North American Championships change location every year to allow drivers in various areas the opportunity to compete. There are specific requirements for both Preliminary and Intermediate Championship divisions. Because of these separate requirements, each Championship has a dedicated Omnibus Bid / Entry form. This will hopefully make the process easier and quicker for you. Please be aware that you will still need to submit the regular Omnibus Entry Form for your full Combined Driving Event. Immediately following the due date, August 15, the Combined Driving Committee and the Event Standards Committee will meet and evaluate the submissions. Any additional materials, relative to your venue, would be of interest to the committees. Photographs and previous course/obstacle maps would be appreciated. Program questions? This way each form will be collected in the same manner and not be lost. Section 2: Please fill out all names required in the grey fields. Turnout and Class information is already entered on the form as given in the criteria. Section 3: Each Official field is required by the criteria. Please check the “Judges List” to verify that your intended official has the proper licensing as listed in the 2016 NA Championships Criteria. Section 4: Please list all Fees. We understand that some may be different from your non-championship divisions. Section 5: Please be as specific as possible with your tentative schedule. Please be aware the First Inspection is a requirement at both championships and needs to be scheduled prior to the start of Dressage, usually the afternoon before. Section 7: Please describe your intended Marathon. Sections requirements and number of obstacles are already specified. Any maps and photographs available of your course would be appreciated with your bid. Section 8: Please describe your Cones arena. Is there a bridge or water in the arena? Section 9: Other information about your competition is listed here. The twice around rule is governed specifically by the 2016 NA Championship Criteria. Championship awards are provided by the ADS. Food and accommodation listings are important for consideration. Please generate a complete list. Section 10: Approval by your competition TD is required. Please be sure the completed form has been sent to your TD prior to submitting the bid.
